She's Home!

Well, Sallie baby came home yesterday. She slept a lot but did eat and drink, which were good signs.

Shiba was missing her, wandering around the house looking for her, sniffing her bed, never really settling down until I brought Sallie back. Shiba knows Sallie is still recouping. Dogs are smart.

This morning, Sallie is back to her loving self, but we are trying to keep her calm so her stitches can heal.

She's a love. Walk up to her, and the tail starts wagging. What more could we ask for?

Okay, well, we could ask for her to be house trained (which she is), not to bark too much (which she doesn't), to be patient and loving with the kids and the other pets (which she is) and not to barf (which she has done only once and that was in the car).

So I ask again, what more could we ask for?

This is an unpaid advertisement for adopting a shelter dog!

(p.s. Sallie's eyes aren't really orange like they appear in the pic. For some reason, the "red eye" tool won't remove that. I just ordered a program that should be able to take care of "pet eye" so you can see how lovely and black Sallie's eyes really are!)

I'm sure Sallie is worried less about her surgery than being loved by your family! We have adopted several dogs over the years, gotten them spayed and/or neutered. They are well loved and forget about the surgery very soon afterwards.

Well that's good to know! She's running around like she never had the surgery now (I'm not sure how you are supposed to keep dogs still as they suggest). Her stitches come out Friday. The only thing is, she doesn't trust me with the leash. I try to take her for walks, but she thinks I'm going to bring her to the vet! It will take awhile to undo that negative conditioning. : )

She sounds a joy to be around. And she's only barfed once?!

LOL! YES!

Pooped and peed once, too, but that's because she had a little worm and surgical complication. Other than that, she's a DREAM!
